Created by the New England state departments of agriculture in 1992, the Harvest New England Association was established to support the sale of New England-grown produce and agricultural products through supermarket channels.
One of New England’s largest biennial marketing conferences for agricultural producers is anticipated for the winter of 2015. Over 825 people attended the two-day conference in 2013, participating in 25 breakout sessions, two general sessions and a full industry trade show.
Consumers throughout New England strive to buy local agricultural products whenever possible but especially during the growing season. These supermarket support local and regionally grown products and often feature the HNE or state-grown logo.
